Weinstock’s submission got more than 10,000 votes, triggering an automatic review by Lego staff, which decided to manufacture and sell it.
New figures include:
- Sally Ride, the first American woman in space
- Nancy Grace Roman, a key member of the Hubble Space Telescope project
- Mae Jemison, the first African-American woman in space
- Margaret Hamilton and Katherine Johnson, who both worked on the first manned mission to the moon.
The Brothers Brick reported that the set also includes a booklet about the four featured women of NASA, the fan creator, and the professional LEGO designers who collaborated on the set.
Lego is still working on the final design and price for the set, but rumours have it that the release date will be November 1 and the set will be priced around the $25 mark.
